Location: Denver, CO. I pulled the swingarm off this past weekend to replace some mounts that a PO cut off that would hold the chainguard. I thought this bike was a 1953 based on the hubs and tank, but the shocks suggested it was newer. When I pulled the swingarm, I found someone had cut off the monoshock.

126 km/h / 78.3 mph. In 1951, NSU launched the Max as an especially sporty and racy motorcycle. With 15 hp, it had the most powerful engine in the 250 cc class in Germany. From 1954 onwards it was given full-hub brakes, a "buffalo-style" tank and a power boost to 17 hp. In 1956, it was upgraded with front and rear forks to form the "Supermax".
